Washing Instructions

- Wash and rinse for about 5 minutes, keep the water temperature below 30°C if possible, use a neutral detergent that does not contain fluorescent agents dissolved in water, and wash by pressing or rubbing with your hands.

- Rinse thoroughly to remove any remaining detergent or slime.

-To finish, dissolve fabric softener in water and apply it to the merino wool body, then remove the moisture with a towel and dry in the shade.

- Do not wash in a washing machine, spin dry, or tumble dry.

- Do not leave it wet for a long period of time.

UL Merino X Cap Development Story

I've tried using caps from various manufacturers and have searched for a functional cap that I like, but I haven't been able to find the ideal cap, and each one has its own advantages and disadvantages for developers.

Before the sample of the previous model of this UL Merino X Cap was available, I always wore a ready-made cap from a popular major manufacturer when climbing or hiking. I liked the design, but I always wished there were more colors and materials I liked.

I wondered if I could make a functional and stylish cap that everyone would want, and that was the beginning of the prototype for the previous model of the UL Merino X Cap .

What I wanted was a merino wool cap that I could wear in the summer. When sewn with merino wool fabric, it tends to be warmer, which is not suitable for summer, so I got inspiration from the caps I always wear and thought, what if I knitted it with merino wool yarn like a kefir hat or straw hat?

I wanted the eaves to be made of waterproof fabric, so I considered X-Pac® (X-Pac® is a registered trademark of Dimension-Polyant) or Dyneema® (Dyneema® is a registered trademark of DSM Co., Ltd.), which were popular at the time, and decided on X-Pac® because of its wide range of colors and nice texture.

Once the material was decided, I started looking for a manufacturer to make the caps. After contacting several companies, I found out that one hat manufacturer made caps for a popular brand that I also love. I thought this might be a good opportunity, so I asked them to make the first prototype sample.

They also consulted with me about the materials I wanted, and after using the completed prototype samples in the mountains, going through a process of trial and error, remaking the samples multiple times, making repeated small adjustments, and even taking them apart and sewing them myself, I was finally able to create the UL Merino X Cap that I was satisfied with.

Before I knew it, it took more than a year and a half to prototype this old model and start accepting pre-orders for the first time through crowdfunding, but thanks to everyone's support, I was able to create a Cap that I'm very proud of!

However, when we asked them to mass-produce the old model of Kurd Funding's return product, we were not satisfied with the quality of the finished product, so we had to remake it after many discussions, and I can't even count how many times we returned it, but they continued to work with us until the end, even though it pushed us beyond the limits of their sewing skills, and we are very grateful. However, the difficulty of sewing with the material became apparent, and we came to the conclusion that it would be difficult to mass-produce at the same cost in the future.

However, we just couldn't give up, so we contacted various hat manufacturers to see if there was a way to improve the quality of mass production without changing the cost and produce the ideal UL Merino X Cap .

Finally, we arrived at the hat manufacturer that we currently use to make the UL Merino X Cap .

We shared and discussed the difficult aspects of the previous model , the UL Merino X Cap , and asked for a sample. When it was completed, we were amazed at the high quality.

We realized that this would enable us to mass-produce the product with satisfactory quality, and we are now finally able to deliver our long-awaited and confident product , the UL Merino X Cap .
