Nice to meet you. I'm Tomoko Yamashita, the representative of YAMATOMO.FUN .

Until a few years ago, I had been climbing mountains for over 20 years, just for fun. But with each passing year, I began to feel the barriers of age. Still, I didn't want to give up on the mountain climbing I enjoy with my husband, and I wanted to continue somehow. That's when I discovered UL Hiking (ultralight hiking).

UL Hiking was a good opportunity for me to reexamine what my mountaineering and hiking had been like, having spent so much money and time on gear and clothing, and what kind of mountaineering and hiking I wanted to achieve.

However, I was worried about getting things dirty when placing things or sitting directly on the ground, I couldn't use floorless tents because I didn't like the bugs, and the ultra-light but hard UL mattresses hurt my back and I couldn't sleep well.The activities and gear that seem to be trending in UL hiking were actually stressful for me, even though I was enjoying the mountains.

So, I chose tents with dome-shaped floors and air mattresses that are as light as possible, even though they offer comfort that may be excessive from the perspective of UL Hiking.I also chose other gear that is as light, compact, and simple as possible, and my UL Hiking Style involves changing gear depending on the goals, objectives, and way of enjoying the mountain climbing or hike.

I love mountain climbing and hiking, and I still want to experience the magnificent scenery of nature and various other experiences. I want to experience as many adventures as possible with my husband. I also want to try climbing the mountains and taking on long trails that I've always dreamed of.

As I pursued my own UL Hiking Style, I found myself dissatisfied with existing gear and began to think, "I wish it was a little more like this," or "I wish there was something like this." Having graduated from design school and enjoying creative pursuits, I decided to make my own gear, and launched the mountain brand YAMATOMO.FUN.

We hope that UL Hiking and UL Outdoor Gear can be effectively incorporated into your individual mountaineering or hiking goals, objectives, and ways of enjoying your hike, and that our Gear can support your UL Hiking Style.

Gear that gives you a gentle boost.

We think together with people close to us about the tools we would like to use in the mountains or hiking, and we carefully create each one. We search for materials from scratch, collect samples, and make decisions after actually looking at them.

I started this really small mountain garage brand in a corner of my house, using professional and industrial sewing machines as my atelier, with the close support of my husband in many ways.

We have made many prototypes so far, including stuff sacks and crampon cases in various sizes and materials, and we continue to go through a process of trial and error until we are satisfied with the product, improving its quality and leading to its commercialization.

I think one of the advantages of working alone is being able to quickly incorporate new ideas, and to concretely consider any doubts or feelings I have and work on improving or correcting them.

The brand name "YAMATOMO.FUN" embodies the meaning of having fun in the mountains, becoming friends with the mountains, and making friends through the mountains.
