[UL FUN Meal] is an ultra-lightweight food cozy (thermal/cold insulation cover) that can be used to keep freeze-dried rice warm or 350ml cans of beer cold.

The name "UL FUN Meal " was chosen with the idea of ​​enjoying a meal in mind .

Carefully selected ingredients

The inside is made of Astrofoil, an aluminum heat shielding material, and an aluminum sheet with a heat reflectivity of 97%.

Astrofoil is a thin heat-shielding material with a thickness of just 4mm, which uses an aluminum sheet on the surface to reflect radiant heat from the outside. Unlike thicker insulation materials that store and retain heat by making it difficult for heat to be transmitted, Astrofoil is expected to have a high heat-retaining effect due to radiant heat.

After studying the electromagnetic waves received by space suits and rockets, the heat-shielding theory using "aluminum and air layers" was developed, and is now used in aircraft and other applications. This "Astrofoil" was developed using this theory for use in buildings.

During the cold season, you can enjoy warm rice until the very last bite, using freeze-dried rice that can be rehydrated with hot water.

It is expected to have a heat-blocking effect against the outside temperature, so it can protect food from the outside temperature and reduce battery consumption.

The outer fabric is made of Dyneema®️ composite fabric 1.43 oz/yd, which is as light as possible while still maintaining durability.

No matter how effective the material is at retaining heat and cold, if there are gaps when molding, the heat and cold retention effect will be reduced.

Another key point is that the seams between the sides and bottom are designed so that there are no gaps, allowing the quality of the material to be fully utilized.

Lightweight and size

In order to make it as light as possible, we made it just large enough to fit Montbell and Nishio freeze-dried foods.

In addition, the gusset is 5cm deep to ensure the container can stand upright stably while keeping the food warm.

It can hold 2-3 rice balls from a convenience store, so you can bring them with you without them getting crushed.

It can also hold one 350ml can of beer.

*Freeze-dried food expands depending on the amount of hot water required, so the UL FUN Meal lid may not close.

*When pouring boiling water into the UL FUN Meal and closing the zipper, please be careful not to let it overflow or get burned as it will expand depending on the amount of hot water required.

*The recently popular Small Twist and UL lunch boxes have large gussets, so if you adjust the amount of hot water slightly, they will fit in without any problems.

There is a hand holder on the back that you can put your hand into, making it easy to eat freeze-dried rice while keeping it warm , and even children and those wearing gloves can eat it without worrying about it slipping or dropping.
If you have large hands, use a few fingers.

You can also add hot water to the freeze-dried rice and use it to keep it warm while cooking, then place the spoon, fork, chopsticks, etc. that you used to stir it up in the holder.

There are hooks on both sides so you can attach a strap or hang it with a carabiner.

How to close the lid

The lid has a Velcro fastening.

There is a reason for this.

• The Velcro closure makes it easy to close the lid when you pour hot water over the freeze-dried food inside.
