The ultimate outdoor cap that is resistant to rain and wind and looks great!
The UL Merino X Cap has been improved from the previous model by reviewing the finer details during the manufacturing process, so that the shape of the cap can be maintained in a cool manner even when blown by strong winds , without changing the weight much.
To allow each individual to experience the stress-free, ultra-lightweight comfort of wearing the cap, which feels as if it is one with their head , we have increased the cap sizes to three: S, M, and L , and now offer four colors that are easy to match with everyday wear.

Highly durable and resistant to wind and rain
Look cool with X-Pac®︎ visors
X-Pac® is a fabric developed by Dimenshon-Polyant, a global leader in sailcloth manufacturing, to create better yacht sails. It is an extremely durable fabric with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and waterproof properties.

100% waterproof X-Pac® fabric is used to make the canopy rain-resistant and quick-drying.

The X- Pac® fabric is chosen for its waterproof, durable , and lightweight properties .
Even if the brim of the cap worn under the hood of your rainwear pops out when hiking in bad weather, X-Pac® fabric won't bother you even if it gets wet in the rain.It doesn't retain water, so it dries easily, and it's also highly durable against weight , making it an excellent material for the brim of a cap used outdoors.
However, in the previous model, the UL Merino X Cap , in order to focus on lightweight design, the core material that is usually placed inside the cap was minimized, and the tension and hardness was achieved only from the fabric, making it very difficult to mass-produce with consistent quality.
Even when the hat manufacturer delivered the finished products, I was not satisfied with the quality and had to send them back so many times that I can't even count them.
Still, I didn't give up and wanted to use X- Pac® fabric to create a unique and attractive cap.
After consulting with the hat manufacturer, we have changed the way the visor is made, and instead of using a core material, we use a resin to bond the top and bottom fabrics together, which is resistant to getting wet in the rain, and by providing just the right amount of tension and hardness, we are now able to produce visors of consistent quality .
The weight remains almost the same, the shape is more stable, and the canopy looks even cooler .
We have actually conducted repeated field tests on the Northern Alps during bad weather and mountain climbing in strong winds, and have had no problems whatsoever. The cap is able to maintain its shape and offers a stable and cool look with confidence. We were able to confirm this.
*This product has not been tested for waterproofing; this is a characteristic of the X-Pac® material.
Flexible eaves that can withstand a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 13 m/s
X-Pac® awnings, which do not have a core material to reduce weight, can be flexibly bent while maintaining their shape , making them less likely to be blown away by the wind when raised .
*The image is of the older model.

*Actual measurements taken by the user. The wind speed that can be endured may vary depending on the usage environment. 13 m/s is only a guideline.
A clear difference from caps made with merino wool fabric
Although the UL Merino X Cap and other caps made from merino wool are both made from merino wool, they are actually quite different.
The UL Merino X Cap is knitted with 80% merino wool yarn and 20% thermo yarn to form the cap, and the knitted body is then heated to form it into the shape of a cap.
Therefore, it is not as dense as fabric, and has small gaps like knit or mesh, which allow for better ventilation .
Therefore, even on scorching hot or humid days, your head won't feel hot and stuffy even if you wear it all day.
*Please note that individual perceptions may vary.

The cap body is made of 80% merino wool yarn, a natural fiber with excellent moisture-regulating, heat-retaining, breathable, and odor-resistant properties. The remaining 20% is made up of thermo polyester yarn, which is necessary to form the shape of the cap. By fine-tuning this blend, we have created a cap that is super light, gently fits to your head, and is so comfortable that you will forget you are wearing it .
Merino wool reacts to changes in body temperature, keeping you cool when it's hot and warm when it's cold, and is also highly odor-resistant.
Merino wool can be said to be a sustainable SDG material .

A sweat absorbent made from natural materials that is gentle on the skin and doesn't cause itching.
The sweat absorption area inside the cap is made of a natural cotton and linen blend, avoiding synthetic fibers, as it comes into direct contact with the skin. I used lawn (a type of fabric). Lawn is a plain weave made from fine yarn, and is characterized by its soft and smooth texture.
Made from natural fibers, cotton and linen, these sweat absorbers are stress-free and won't cause rashes or itch, even when in contact with the skin for long periods of time. They contain linen, which is known to be a resistant material for bacterial growth, and they dry quickly even when wet .
This sweatband has also been improved from the previous model, and by removing the inner core material and making it thinner, it is softer and more breathable, allowing us to maximize the quality of the lawn material .

Find the size that suits you best
We hope you will enjoy the UL Merino X Cap while maintaining the excellent fit and the cap's basic design and well-balanced shape. Therefore, we have increased the size options and now offer three sizes: S, M, and L.
To maintain a well-balanced shape and design of the cap, we recommend adjusting each size by +2cm or -2cm from the R value.
It is slightly deeper than a regular cap.
*R = Round (head circumference), H = High (height)

The size adjustment strap can be neatly stored inside the cap
In the previous model, the size adjustment strap could not be stored and was left sticking out, but since leaving it long and sticking out can get in the way, we have improved it so that it can be stored inside the cap itself .
The back strap is made of X-Pac® in the same color as the visor , giving it a stylish design.

You can wear a helmet or knit cap over it without any discomfort.
The UL Merino X Cap fits comfortably on your head, so you can wear a helmet or knit cap over the UL Merino X Cap without feeling uncomfortable, and you can also add a brim to your existing knit cap .
*The three images below are of the older model, so the colors may differ from the latest model.
