nice to meet you. I am Tomoko Yamashita, the representative of [YAMATOMO.FUN] .
I've been mountain climbing for over 20 years, but until a few years ago I was just enjoying it. However, year by year, I realized the age barrier. However, I didn't want to give up on the mountain climbing that I enjoy with my husband, and I wanted to continue doing it somehow, and that's when I discovered UL Hiking (Ultra Light Hiking).
UL Hiking was a good opportunity for me to reconsider what kind of mountain climbing and hiking I had spent so much time and money on gear and clothing for, and what kind of mountain climbing and hiking I was aiming for.
However, placing things or sitting directly on the ground can get dirty, floorless tents are not good for insects, and ultra-light but hard UL mats cause back pain and make it difficult to sleep well, which seems to be a trend in UL hiking. The crazy actions and gear were actually stressful even though I was enjoying the mountain.
Therefore, we chose tents with dome-shaped floors and air mats that are as light as possible, which may be excessively comfortable for UL Hiking, and we also choose other gear that is as light, compact, and simple as possible, so that we can improve our mountain climbing and hiking. My UL Hiking Style allows you to change gears according to your goals, objectives, and way of enjoying your life.
I love mountain climbing and hiking, and I would like to experience as much of the majestic scenery of nature as possible and enjoy as many different experiences as possible with my husband. I also want to challenge my dream mountains and long trails.
As I continued to perfect my UL Hiking Style, I became dissatisfied with the existing gear and found myself thinking, ``I wish it was a little more like this'' or ``I wish I had something like this,'' so I graduated from design school and realized that I love being creative. Therefore, I decided to make my own and launched the mountain brand [YAMATOMO.FUN].

We are preparing a variety of new products for 2023, so we hope you can look forward to them.
Utilizing over 20 years of experience as a hiker, I design products that give form to what I want and wish I could have, taking on new challenges, being flexible, and being careful.
We work together to create the tools that you or your loved ones would want to use while hiking in the mountains, one by one. I search for materials from scratch, collect samples, and decide after seeing them in person.
This is a really small mountain garage brand that I started in a corner of my home with a professional and industrial sewing machine as an atelier, and with the close support of my partner and husband in various aspects.
We have made many prototypes so far, such as stuff sacks and crampon cases in various sizes and materials, but we continue to repeat trial and error until we are satisfied with the product, increasing the degree of perfection and leading to commercialization.
I think one of the strengths of working as an individual creator is that you can immediately incorporate new things, and you can embody even the slightest doubts or feelings and work on improvements and modifications.
The brand name [YAMATOMO.FUN] has the meaning of having fun in the mountains, making friends with the mountains, and making friends in the mountains.
We aim to be a brand that supports and inspires hikers with gear, by skillfully incorporating Ultralight Outdoor Gear to expand the range of mountain climbing and hiking, increasing the range of fields in which you can enjoy it, and enjoying challenging your favorite mountains and long distances!
